APPLICATION ARCHITECT – CONTRACT – CARY, NC
Application Architect Position Summary (Mission): Application Architect is a key member of the architecture team and will lead efforts to maximize the quality and increase the efficiency to deliver business-driven solutions. Collaborate and work directly with project delivery teams to identify and guide development activities in alignment with best practices, focusing on presentation, integration, data management, and service/application design.
Application Architect Job Accountability/Responsibilities
Solution Modeling & Design
-Responsible for assisting project teams in translating requirements and enterprise models into solutions that meet business value objectives and are aligned with standards
-Drive towards agreement on architectural decisions within solution/system development efforts through the depiction of concepts, relationships, constraints, and operations
-Support project teams in the assessment of available information to develop IT Architectures, including design recommendations, to guide informed decisions
-Creates and informs working designs based on existing or new architectures in coordination with EA, and promotes pattern and service reuse (limited coding)
Application Architect Assurance
-Work closely with leadership and project delivery teams to drive alignment with the design decisions made and ensure consistency of implementations with architecture principles and standards
-Govern against coding guidelines and best practices through mentoring and practical involvement in solution activities
Technology Leadership (Support & Problem Solving)
-Work directly with IT delivery to establish designs that conform to IT principles and support the strategic direction.
Document/publish these standards and lead efforts to incorporate them into the IT fabric.
-Work closely with IT delivery to enhance/standardize the product development environment, introducing/maintaining development standards, and evaluate/introduce recommendations to improve the development and runtime stack
Research & Development
-Develop strategic applications/services or facilitate such development
-Lead project teams through potential POC efforts related to new technologies or new use of existing technologies
-Identify and communicate gaps within the organization’s enterprise architecture
